In crash, sometimes you click on cars to speed them up, sometimes to slow them down, sometime to avoid crashes, sometimes to cause crashes. The only reason you never click on a car for is to have fun.
Someone should do a graphical update to this game just to prove nice graphics can't save horrible gameplay.
